Oh the deep, deep love of Jesus.
I pray that you may have the power to comprehend, with all the saints, what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
Ephesians 3:17-19
There is no end to the love created
and exuding the Triune God;
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
A flowing waterfall of raging,
unstoppable love
piercing through the pools of life with majesty and grandeur.
A gentle stream flowing,
contorted by meandering twists and turns
into Love’s expansive gulf,
swallowing us into Love’s great, endless embrace.
A saturating rain trickling from heaven,
soaking us to the bone,
entering every pore of our flesh
becoming one within.
A well deep so deep,
sprung forth from earth’s secret aquifers,
bubbling fresh, crisp,
living, nurturing waters
quenching thirsts of longing,
eternal hydration.
The waters of Love burst
from every mountain crevice,
breaking through, carving every valley,
nourishing barren and deserted lands,
bubbling from darkened, secret pits
hidden from our vision,
resting in caverns cold and desolate,
scouring streets and alleys, drainage pipes, and gutters.
The waters of Love touch all living and dying spaces,
existing creatively in the camel and the cactus,
settled in the cracks of jagged cliffs,
The waters
find their way
to give sustenance and life.
The waters of Love cannot be stopped,
controlled,
nor tamed,
though creation tries.
The waters of Love are free-flowing,
abounding,
repurposing,
refreshing,
regenerating,
reviving.
The waters of Love
knows no bounds,
fears no enemy,
surges through earth for Love’s sake
to be known,
experienced,
united with you,
with me, together
swept up in a flow of Triune Love,
submerged,
raised anew.
Jesus said to her, ‘Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but those who drink of the water that I will give them will never be thirsty. The water that I will give will become in them a spring of water gushing up to eternal life.’
John 4: 13-14
I rarely share the writings in my journal, but as I meditated on Christ’s deep love I wrote this meditation of my heart and thought I would share it with you. My desire is that it may be an imaginative practice for you to reflect on the places in which God reaches you as he flows in and through our lives like water.
