Elizabeth Forshee –
When I started on this journey of Ignatian prayer, I really didn’t know what I was getting myself into. I have kept a journal of this journey, and when I look back over it I don’t even need to read the words on the pages. Everything started out in black. And as I flip through the pages slowly but surely hints of color start to appear. As I am turning the pages I can’t help but think of Genesis 1 and how the earth started out dark and formless. As God spoke, each word that was spoken brought hints of color. It’s like this journey has been my creation story in a way. The more I flip the pages, and the more God speaks things into being the more colorful and beautiful each page, creation became. When I get to the end of my journal just as God arrived on the seventh day, I look back and hear God speak: it is good, it’s all very good.
