The pilgrim life leads us to different places, intersects into the lives of others, can be transient and full of gains and losses. These detours are stories to be shared.

Who we see ourselves to be, and how we view our purpose as Christians makes a difference in how we will respond to the needs of our world. We can not sit back and wait for Jesus to return, he’s already given us the task of reconciling what is broken to himself in order to make it right on earth. We do have hope, there is a way to do something and see change.
The repercussions of COVID-19 are spreading wider than we anticipated. We suddenly find ourselves at home quarantined with life on hold. What do we do when all our plans are thrown out the window with seemingly no way to consider what the future may hold?
Our state officially went on lockdown, a.k.a “Stay at Home, Stay Safe,” Monday. Though I continue to write about discernment, I thought it’d be nice to pause and practice discerning prayer in an unsettling time. I’ve put together an outline for a prayer practice, you may use it as you like. Stories do more than entertain, they can speak a message of a deeper truth or reveal a mystery. God is a great storyteller and he invites us into his story. His narratives remind us of who we are and show us where we are going. His poetry and prose invite us to come and sit with him, steep in deep truths, and fully live with discerning hearts.
